Scope
This standard classifies, defines, and designates the various types of sewn seams. It is not intended to be fully comprehensive, but rather to illustrate a number of the most commonly used seam types. This standard applies to seams used in particular in the garment industry.
All illustrative drawings show only a cross-section of the material construction.
This standard shall be used in conjunction with International Standard ISO 4915.
