PSI works according to the law on standards and metrology no 6 issued in 2000. PSI was able to develop several operational instruction and systems related to the services provided as the instruction on standards development, granting of quality marks, national metrology system, and several other documents.
The cabinet has also approved the national quality policy NQP that was issued in 2014 with the support of Germany BMZ-PTB; according to NQP the accreditation services was removed from PSI to the Ministry of National Economy. A plan was established to release the technical regulations to the Ministry of National Economy and the related Ministries, the plan also consider upgrading services to be in line with the international practices.
