Annual Honey Competition
The annual honey chart
Palestine Standards Institution (PSI) seeks to organize an annual honey competition, to find competitive opportunities among local honey producers. The quality of honey will be improved through the application of good agricultural practices; also the productivity of honey farmers will be increased.
By the end of the season and after farmers have finished collecting the honey, the PSI calls for an application to the competition. This process will be according to certain terms and conditions stated in the chart. However, the samples are subject to specific tests through the laboratory in the PSI. This includes conducting sensory tests and chemical analysis, to select the samples corresponding to the requirements of the Palestinian Standard for Honey (P.S 216). Based on the evaluation results, the organizers will choose the best samples to move to the final stage, and then the winner will be selected.
