Inspection and Testing

The Palestinian Standards and Institution (PSI) undertakes inspection and testing as a core component of its quality control system for products and goods circulating in the Palestinian market, ensuring their compliance with Palestinian standards and mandatory technical regulations. Its testing services cover various industrial sectors, including construction, food, chemical, mechanical, and electrical industries.

A qualified and specialized technical team is responsible for sampling products from facilities holding the institution’s marks (Quality Mark / Supervision Mark) and testing them either at the institution’s laboratories or at nationally or regionally accredited labs, in accordance with approved standards and specifications. The institution also conducts inspection services to verify the conformity of products and goods upon request by relevant authorities or clients, including imported goods entering the Palestinian market. Certificates of conformity are issued based on the approved conformity assessment procedures.

The institution continuously works to enhance its technical capabilities by assessing the available testing resources in Palestine and by establishing and upgrading its national laboratories in key areas such as cement testing, electrical products, safety doors, and leather and footwear testing. It also strengthens technical cooperation with both local and international engineering laboratories to ensure the reliability of testing and inspection results.

Additionally, the institution is mapping all available testing means and capacities in Palestine across all engineering sectors and is currently developing laboratories in the fields of cement, electrical products, and materials testing, while documenting and formalizing cooperation with local and international engineering laboratories.

Inspecting Technical Systes

To ensure the safety of the citizens and to maintain their properties the Institution provides inspection services to different technical systems such as lifts, amusement parks, LPG tanks, and petrol stations. The inspection is done by qualified staff, in cooperation with concerned parties, in accordance with requirements of technical regulations and related Palestinian standards.

Conformity of imported products


In order to activate the role of the Palestinian Standards Institution in regulating the market and facilitating the entry of imports that comply with the requirements of technical instructions and approved specifications, to ensure market regulation, protect consumers, and create a fair competitive environment in the Palestinian market, the Institution handles import shipments to Palestine by issuing all necessary official correspondence to the concerned parties, to facilitate the procedures and process of importing products that comply with Palestinian requirements.

Through this measure, the Corporation also seeks to protect Palestinian consumers by supervising products that require some modifications to ensure imports comply with the requirements of the relevant Palestinian specifications before they are distributed in the Palestinian market.
