Palestinian Standards: This is the approved technical legislation that all concerned parties agree to implement after studying international, regional, and foreign standards, with the aim of promoting local production and increasing its competitiveness. The institution has issued approximately 3,385 standards covering various industrial sectors (food, textiles, engineering, construction, etc.).
Among the objectives that the Palestinian standard is considered a means to achieve are:
- Raising the national product to the required quality.
- Enhancing the competitiveness of the national product compared to foreign products.
- Consumer protection.
- Health, safety, and environmental protection.
Mandatory Technical Instructions: A document that specifies the characteristics of products or associated processes, compliance with which is mandatory. It may also include technical terms, symbols, packaging, labeling, or production methods. Conformity Assessment Procedure: Any procedure used to verify compliance with specifications or technical instructions, such as sampling, testing, inspection, evaluation, verification, registration, certification, or accreditation. The Information Center is an important source of information on Palestinian and international standards, mandatory technical instructions, and conformity assessment procedures. It is also a point of contact for government agencies, exporters, importers, producers, and consumer protection associations.
