Laboratory

The Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institution (PSMI) places great importance on the development of its national laboratories, viewing them as a key tool in supporting the quality infrastructure in Palestine. The institution works to assess and document the available local testing capabilities and is actively establishing and upgrading its laboratories in critical areas such as cement testing, electrical products, construction materials, safety doors, footwear, and leather.

PSMI also aims to strengthen and formalize technical cooperation with local and international engineering laboratories to ensure technical accuracy and efficiency, and to broaden the accreditation of national laboratories within the national quality system. Testing is carried out within the institution’s laboratories or through nationally or regionally accredited labs, in accordance with Palestinian standards and approved technical criteria.

The institution continues to invest in its technical and laboratory capabilities to stay aligned with technological advancements and to strengthen the reliability of national laboratories as reference centers across various industrial sectors in Palestine.
