Director General of the Palestine Standards Institution Receives the Moroccan Ambassador to Discuss Enhancing Comprehensive Cooperation and Facilitating Trade Exchange Between Palestine and the Kingdom of Morocco
Ramallah – The Director General of the Palestine Standards Institution, Dr. Haidar Hajjah, received His Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the State of Palestine, Mr. Abdelrahim Mzian, at the المؤسسة’s headquarters, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and develop bilateral relations in the fields of standards, metrology, and quality infrastructure.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Hajjah welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador, stressing the importance of strengthening technical cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two sides, in a manner that contributes to developing the quality system, supporting the national product, and enhancing its competitiveness in regional and international markets.
During the meeting, the institution presented an overview of its key technical services, including testing, calibration, conformity assessment and certification, and market surveillance, as well as its role in supporting the industrial and commercial sectors and promoting compliance with approved standards.
For his part, His Excellency the Moroccan Ambassador to the State of Palestine, Mr. Abdelrahim Mzian, expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Palestine Standards Institution in developing the quality infrastructure and supporting the national economy. He affirmed the Kingdom of Morocco’s keenness—under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee—to expand the horizons of comprehensive cooperation and exchange of expertise with the Palestinian side, in a way that enhances opportunities for economic integration and opens broader avenues for trade exchange between the two brotherly countries.
The two sides also discussed prospects for implementing joint cooperation programs and exchanging technical information and expertise, in addition to exploring ways to facilitate the entry of Palestinian products into the Moroccan market and to enhance investment opportunities and economic cooperation between Palestine and the Kingdom of Morocco.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and joint communication, and of organizing specialized technical meetings and workshops, in a manner that contributes to the development of standardization and quality fields and strengthens the strategic partnership between the two countries.
