Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institution Achieves New Milestone: Export of First Shipment of Cutting and Grinding Discs to Saudi Arabian Markets

The Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institution announced a significant achievement with the export of the first shipment of cutting and grinding discs to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This accomplishment follows the successful registration of products by the Palestinian company “Egilflex” on the Saudi “Saber” platform, as part of the mutual recognition arrangements for Palestinian conformity certificates for non-food products with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization.

Commenting on this achievement, the Director General of the Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institution, Eng. Haider Hajja, emphasized that “The companies’ pursuit of certification reflects their commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of their products, opening new markets, strengthening their reputation among consumers, and advancing toward excellence and success.” Hajja further explained that the institution, through its partnerships with international and regional counterparts, spares no effort in supporting the national industrial sector and assisting Palestinian products in entering new markets.

“We maintain continuous communication with all our international partners to follow developments and updates in international standards and reflect these on Palestinian standards and technical regulations, which supports national products,” added Hajja.

He also expressed the institution’s readiness to overcome any obstacles or difficulties that national factories may face, highlighting the institution’s dedication to ongoing communication with all relevant parties to gather opinions aimed at improving the business environment, quality infrastructure, and advancing the national industry.

It is worth noting that this achievement aligns with the goals of the institution’s strategic plan and under the directives of the Board of Directors to promote the national product, build international partnerships to support the local industry, and open new markets for products bearing the Palestinian quality mark.

The institution also calls on all companies and producers to submit applications to obtain the marks granted by the institution, ensuring their products meet the required standards for foreign markets, benefiting from memorandums of understanding signed with more than ten countries, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national product on the international stage.
