Under the patronage of the Prime Minister, the Palestinian Standards Institution officially launched its new electronic services on Monday during a formal event held at Jerusalem Hall in the Ministry of Industry, attended by a wide range of official and institutional representatives, as well as participants from the public and private sectors and development partners.

The launch of the electronic services comes as part of the institution’s efforts to promote digital transformation and develop government services, contributing to simplifying procedures for citizens and the private sector, while enhancing the efficiency and speed of transaction processing, in line with the Palestinian government’s vision toward digitization and digital transformation.

During his speech, the Minister of Industry and Chairman of the Board of the Palestinian Standards Institution, Arafat Asfour, stated that this achievement represents a significant milestone in the development of Palestinian state institutions and reflects the government’s vision of building institutions that are more efficient, transparent, and capable of serving citizens despite the current challenges and circumstances.

He emphasized that digital transformation is no longer an option but a national necessity to strengthen institutional resilience, improve the quality of services provided to citizens, and support the business environment and national economy. He added that the Palestinian government is working to employ modern technology across various sectors to ensure faster service delivery and easier access to services.

He explained that the Palestinian Standards Institution implemented a comprehensive digital transformation project that included automating all institutional services, totaling 41 electronic services, in addition to automating internal operations, activating electronic payment and electronic signature services, and developing the institution’s website according to the latest technical standards.

He added that this project represents a qualitative leap in the level of government services, helping simplify procedures for citizens and the private sector, while enhancing the investment environment and improving institutional performance in line with global technological developments.

In his speech during the launch ceremony, the Minister of National Economy, Mohammad Al-Amour, affirmed that this step comes as part of implementing the Palestinian government’s political agenda and administrative reform and digital transformation program, with the aim of simplifying procedures, facilitating service delivery to citizens and the private sector, improving government efficiency, and enhancing transparency.

Al-Amour stressed the importance of the institution and its role both locally and internationally, as well as the value of its Arab and international certifications and recognitions. He noted that during his foreign visits, he heard praise for the Palestinian Standards Institution, describing it as comparable to the largest international and Arab institutions. He also considered the institution one of the strategic arms for protecting the economy and national products.

At the conclusion of his remarks, the minister expressed his appreciation to the institution and its technical staff who contributed to completing this vital project, affirming the institution’s continued efforts to develop its technical infrastructure in order to protect consumers and enhance the competitiveness of national products both locally and internationally.

For his part, Naseem Noor, representative of the “Tasdeer” Program, stated that the partnership with the Palestinian Standards Institution comes within the framework of the program’s efforts to support the development of the Palestinian economic environment and enhance the competitiveness of national institutions through supporting digital transformation projects, modernizing government services, and strengthening partnerships.

Noor pointed out that developing electronic systems and facilitating access to government services are key elements in improving the business environment and supporting the private sector’s ability to obtain faster, more efficient, and more flexible services.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Salameh, General Manager of “Experts” Company, spoke about the importance of digital transformation in developing public sector institutions, emphasizing that digitization in the government sector has become a real necessity rather than merely an option or a modern trend. He explained that the expectations of citizens and the private sector have changed significantly, as everyone now seeks services that are faster, clearer, easier, and accessible anytime and from anywhere.

Salameh explained that cooperation with the Palestinian Standards Institution in implementing this project represents a successful model for partnership and building modern, secure technological solutions that contribute to simplifying procedures and improving user experience in line with global technological developments.

He added that the next phase requires greater integration among government institutions and the linking of various systems and services to achieve a unified and seamless digital government experience, where citizens feel that government services are interconnected and easy to use rather than separate and complicated systems.

In his speech, the Director General of the Palestinian Standards Institution, Haider Hujjah, stated that the launch of the electronic services marks the beginning of a new phase of institutional development and digital transformation within the institution, aimed at facilitating citizens’ and institutions’ access to services with speed, efficiency, and transparency.

Hujjah noted that the institution has worked during the past period on developing an integrated electronic system that includes electronic services and a new website, in line with best modern practices and aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided. He stressed that this achievement aligns with the Palestinian government’s direction toward digitization and the development of government services.

The event also included a live demonstration of how to apply for and benefit from the new electronic services, in addition to showcasing the institution’s newly developed website, which was designed to provide integrated and user-friendly digital services for citizens and institutions.
