Standards and Metrology Institution Holds Training Course on Food Safety and Labelling

The Standards and Metrology Institution, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), held a specialized training course for representatives of food establishments and factories. The course aimed to enhance participants’ awareness of food safety requirements and applicable technical standards.

The training covered two main topics. The first focused on food safety requirements and was presented by Suleiman Helmi, while the second addressed food labelling and its requirements and was presented by Hana Hannoun. Both trainers are from the Institution’s Technical Services Department.

The training course is part of the Institution’s efforts to strengthen its partnership with the industrial and food sectors, improve product quality, and ensure compliance with technical requirements and standards, thereby contributing to consumer protection and enhancing the safety and quality of food products.
