The 18th Meeting of the Plastics Technical Committee Held

The Plastics Technical Committee at the Palestine Standards and Metrology Institution held its 18th meeting, both in person and via Microsoft Teams, with the participation of representatives from nine organizations representing the governmental, private, and civil sectors.

The meeting was held as part of the Institution’s efforts to prepare, develop, and update Palestinian standards in line with international standards and to meet the needs of the Palestinian market and relevant sectors.

The Committee’s Rapporteur, Dr. Muhannad Ismail, explained that during the meeting, the Committee reviewed 17 Palestinian standards. It recommended updating 13 of them to replace their previous editions, renewing two standards, and confirming the continued validity of two others.

The Committee also discussed five draft Palestinian standards and recommended submitting all of them to the Institution’s Board of Directors for approval. The drafts covered areas including rubber, rigid plastic materials, and injection molding of thermoplastic materials.

Ismail noted that the meeting procedures were carried out through the Institution’s newly adopted automation and digital transformation system, which enabled members to electronically follow projects, their discussion stages, and related procedures, contributing to greater efficiency and faster work by the technical committees.
