The Metals Technical Committee Holds Its Regular Meeting
The Technical Committee held its fifteenth meeting today in a single session, conducted both in person and via Google Meet, with the participation of representatives from six entities representing various sectors (private, civil society, and government).
In line with the vision of the Palestinian Standards Institution to develop and update Palestinian standards across various fields, the specialized technical committees undertake the review of standards that have been in effect for five years or more, in addition to adopting and approving new standards. This ensures alignment with international standards while meeting the needs of the Palestinian market in the metals sector.
The Committee's Rapporteur, Dr. Muhannad Ismail, stated that the meeting began with a follow-up on the decisions and outcomes of the previous meeting. The Committee also approved its work plan for 2027 and proceeded with the agenda, discussing four new draft standards, all of which will be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. These draft standards relate to the hardness testing of metallic materials.
The Committee's Rapporteur further noted that the meeting was successfully conducted, with all required procedures completed through the new automation and digital transformation system recently approved by the Institution's Board of Directors.
Representatives of the participating entities demonstrated cooperation and interest in reviewing and discussing the draft standards through the system. Remote participation also made it easier for members to follow the meeting procedures and understand the steps required to complete the assigned tasks professionally and successfully
