The Palestinian Standards and Metrology strengthens the efficiency of its staff through a specialized training program in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institution implemented a specialized training program in the field of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), funded by a UNDP project and delivered by Newtrendtek Company, during the period from March 16, 2026, to April 7, 2026. This program was part of a structured training plan aimed at developing technical competencies and enhancing the readiness of the institution’s staff in line with international best practices.

The training aims to demonstrate the institution’s competence in accordance with international accreditation requirements, as the institution is in the process of granting GMP certification in the following sectors: food, dietary supplements, and cosmetics. Currently, the institution is also pursuing international accreditation for the Palestinian GMP certificate to be recognized globally by the Global Accreditation Center (GAC), thereby supporting and facilitating the entry of products into international markets.

The program included four specialized training courses focusing on key areas, including: Good Manufacturing Practices for food in accordance with the latest international standards; World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for dietary supplements; the Food Safety Management System based on the international standard ISO 22000; and GMP requirements for cosmetics in accordance with the international standard ISO 22716.

At the conclusion of the program, evaluation exams were conducted to measure participants’ knowledge acquisition and technical competence in alignment with international practices. Accordingly, participants received accredited certificates from the training provider, confirming their professional readiness and enhancing the institution’s capacity to improve the quality of its services, support the national quality infrastructure, and protect consumers.
