The Plastics Technical Committee Holds Its Regular Meeting
The Plastics Technical Committee held its nineteenth meeting today, Wednesday, in a single session conducted both in person and via Google Meet, with the participation of representatives from eight entities across various sectors (private, civil society, and public sectors).
This meeting comes within the framework of the Palestinian Standards Institution’s vision to develop and establish Palestinian standards across various fields, ensuring their alignment with international standards and meeting the specific needs of the Palestinian market.
The Committee’s Rapporteur, Dr. Muhannad Ismail, stated that the meeting began with a follow-up on previously approved matters. He also noted that the Committee had approved its work plan for 2027.
The Committee reviewed ten Palestinian standards, confirming that all of them remain valid, and decided to submit them to the Board of Directors for approval. In addition, the Committee discussed fourteen draft Palestinian standards (three new standards and thirteen revised standards), all of which will be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval as new and updated standards.
The standards reviewed during the meeting covered adhesives and decorative laminates, while the draft standards addressed vulcanized or thermoplastic rubber.
The Committee’s Rapporteur further stated that the meeting was successfully conducted, with all required procedures completed through the new automation and digital transformation system recently adopted by the Institution’s Board of Directors.
Representatives of the participating entities demonstrated cooperation and interest in reviewing and discussing the draft standards through the system. Remote participation also made it easier for members to follow up on meeting-related procedures and the steps required to complete their tasks professionally and successfully.
