This Palestinian standard specifies the requirements that must be met in pea pods of cultivated varieties of Pisum sativum (L. subsp. sativum), to be supplied fresh to the consumer after packaging, with peas intended for industrial processing being excluded.

Peas are classified into two groups according to their mode of consumption:

• Shelling peas (round peas and wrinkled peas): produced for consumption without the pods
• Sugar peas (Mange-tout peas and Sugar Snap peas): produced for consumption with the pods
