Scope
This document specifies the requirements and test methods for fatty acid methyl esters marketed and supplied (hereinafter referred to as FAME) to be used either as fuel for diesel engines and heating applications at a concentration of 100%, or as an extender for distillate fuel for diesel engines in accordance with the requirements of Standard 77, Part 1, and for heating fuel purposes.
At a concentration of 100%, it applies to fuel intended for use in diesel engines and in heating applications that are designed or subsequently modified to operate on 100% FAME.
Note: For the purposes of this document, the terms “% (m/m)” and “% (V/V)” are used to represent the mass fraction and the volume fraction, respectively.
