This standard specifies the terms, definitions, and standard requirements applicable to all types of footwear, as well as the labeling, inspection, and testing methods for complete footwear intended for general use by children, boys, women, and men. This standard does not apply to footwear used by the armed forces and security agencies, footwear intended for special purposes, occupational safety footwear, sports footwear, or medical footwear.
