This standard (Part 1) deals with the general requirements and assessment of bin loads for granular and powdery materials.
This standard covers circular, polygonal, and interstice bins.
This standard deals with the storage of materials in dry condition for which properties are given in Table 2. However, if moisture content, temperature, etc, vary, the actual values would have to be arrived at as indicated under Note of Table 2. Provisions for thermal insulations, details of joints, weather proofing of joints, etc, are not covered in this standard.
