2. Accreditation of the Palestinian Quality Certificate No. APC 0127 in accordance with the international standard ISO 17065 and other related international standards.

Scopes of Accreditation:

The scope of accreditation for the Palestinian Halal Certificate includes:

• Plant production along the entire chain from the farm to processing operations, as well as logistics activities related to preservation, transportation, and storage services.
• Animal production along the entire chain from the farm to processing operations, as well as logistics activities related to preservation, transportation, and storage services.

The scope of accreditation for the Palestinian Quality Certificate includes natural stone products, security doors, safety and personal protection footwear, and plastic pipes, in addition to processed meat products, sterilized milk, water-based and dairy-based ice cream, creamy ice cream, packed dates, olive oil, potato chips products, as well as fresh and frozen poultry and turkey meat.

A Palestinian establishment that has obtained the Quality Mark or Halal Mark in any of these fields may receive a certificate bearing the Gulf Accreditation Center logo.

Accreditation of the Sensory Testing Laboratory and Olive Oil Sensory Tasting Panel:

Olive oil in Palestine has a long heritage, national, and economic history, and it forms the backbone of Palestinian agriculture. It is an important sector for creating seasonal employment opportunities and increasing the income of many Palestinian families.

The Sensory Testing Laboratory and the Olive Oil Sensory Tasting Panel have been accredited by the International Olive Council after evaluating the laboratory’s competence and accuracy, the qualifications of the testers, the laboratory equipment, the experience and activity of the sensory tasting panel, and the average number of times extra virgin olive oil is tasted monthly, in accordance with the conditions set forth in Resolution No. 13/103-V issued on 26/11/2015.

This international recognition helps unify national and international regulations concerning the physical, chemical, and organic characteristics of olive oil products, thereby reducing technical barriers to the trade of olive oil and facilitating access to external markets, especially in Europe based on sensory evaluation. Moreover, Palestinian producers can now carry out sensory tests provided by the institution at nominal costs, whereas previously, conducting these tests abroad incurred high expenses for Palestinian producers.

Accreditation of National Measurement Directorate Laboratories

The establishment and implementation of a quality management system in accordance with international requirements ensures that the reference instruments used in measurement activities are precise and linked to the international measurement sequence to guarantee accuracy. It also reflects that all activities are carried out under standard conditions using advanced scientific and technical methods, while verifying the competence of the human resources involved and the measurement processes. Accordingly, the results issued by a laboratory accredited under this system are internationally recognized, enhancing the laboratory’s credibility and providing assurances to clients.
